Location - Intelligence Time - 11.00am Blue sky and sunshine. Chicago had finally seen that glorious sunshine and business was bustling at precinct 21. The squad cars lined up outside, shiny and washed for the day ahead. Sgt. Platt was giving out the assignments to patrol for the new shift and dealing with incoming enquiries. It was a full house of detectives, officers and civilians all going about daily life. Filing reports, asking for help, working on cases and paperwork. No one had really noticed the large van drive into the garage. Checked at the gate as a pickup of evidence for central storage the paperwork was in order as the van was let through the gate. It drove down into the lot, missing the first space it needed to take to make the pickup. Instead it drover further into the garage that sat directly under the precinct. It parked up next to the elevator for the parking structure and to the far side of the van was the structural column. The very beam that if damaged could cause a catastrophic failure to the foundations of the building. The driver got out walking back up to the check point as they tapped a box of cigarettes and motioned to the corner across the street. What was a five minute smoke break the cop of duty thought, it would take ten to fifteen to check the evidence out and into the van anyway. A polite nod and smile at the driver in the base ball cap as he watched the man make his way across the street. The cop went back to checking the paperwork seeing the signature was missing from the evidence lock up across town. He took two steps to try and catch the driver before the explosion hit and sent him flying into the concrete wall. The sound of crumbling and falling, screaming voices and the cloud of dust and debris that seemed to go on forever as the air was pushed out of the building to be replaced with fire, smoke and dust. (No one dies just injured if you want your character to be, only victims can be injured. Helpers are required to help those injured) Sharon "Cher" Voight (victim of explosion, Henry 'Hank' Voight (victim of explosion, Mark Wilson (help), @roxi (help),

[googlefont="Kranky:400;"] tagged notes -- | Sharon was coming out of interrogation. She was frustrated. Braden had promised her coffee though. The partners knew how to bribe each other. Sharon could be bribed with coffee; her bribes to him however had to be more expensive. Chinese food. No wait, she promised him Chinese for something else. It was hard to bribe someone when you had to try to pay up on a bribe already. Hence, she had been suckered into being bribed into an interrogation. Forget it, the logic made about as much sense as their case did.
“Sergeant!” She called heading for her dad’s office door. It was open and she was pretty sure she was in there. Sharon had been meaning to ask Hank about the shooter’s connection to their guy in interrogation. Some days she was pretty sure they landed half of homicide’s cases. She made into the door frame off the office when the blast hit.
The doorway was one of the best places to be, though in her case the worst. Flying debris was avoidable at best. It was the desk that came flying in her direction and managed to catch her knocking her down. That’s when the filing cabinet tipped. Her breathing increased and all she managed was a scream. “Dad!” Though anything else that would have been said was cut off by more debris flying around. While the tipping of the filing cabinet wasn’t with so much force it was more the floor underneath of them was unstable. It was the fall that accompanied it as she landed on the floor below. Now she was in the Captain’s office. Her neck. She let out a whimper but now everything seemed to be moving around. Oh she felt drunk. |

Hank glanced up from his desk when he heard Sharon say Sergeant, he was used to it and with his door open he was trying to be available for the team. Hank just smiled when he saw her though soon after he wasnt smiling at all. The desk flew, he was thrown into the wall without a seconds notice to even brace himself as he felt a couple of ribs break. Even his face took a hit though it wasnt anything he wasnt used to but generally it was fist shaped not wall shaped.
He could hear Sharon’s scream though when he reached out for her the ground gave way. Falling. There was nothing he could do about it until he wasnt falling anymore. The hard cabinet, row of books and then the floor underneath his office stopped the decent as he could feel his ribs once again take the brunt of the force as he gasped for breath. Each one seemed to be more painful than the last. “Sharon... Sharon!” He screamed unable to see her as he didnt care how much it hurt as he shoved himself to his feet.
Everything hurt, his throat, his eyes, his face, ribs and even his wrist wasnt exactly sitting right as he held it awkwardly to his side. Broken he was sure but that didnt change a thing. He needed to get to Sharon right now. Hank could feel his feet sliding on paper, water, debris as he tried to make his way to Sharon though when she saw her trying to move, no that was a bad idea. “No Cher, stay still... just lay still.” He said fine for dishing out the advice but for taking it, no he wasnt one to do that as everyone well know.
“Cher, talk to me... come on just talk to me.” Hank said as he dropped down next to her gasping for breath as he did so. Yeah he was going to regret it he knew that but he reached out both hands toward Sharon’s face to try and check over her.

Roxi hated when things happened to cops, yes she hated when it was anyone but cops that hit a little too close to home for her. She had been a fed, her sister was a federal medical examiner and her brother was a cop along with their half brother former CPD. Her heart had almost stopped hearing the address over the Klaxon but they were on their way out and there was no unhearing any of it. Even when she stepped out of the fire truck and grabbed the gear she needed along with the small bag of medical supplies for basic first aid. Roxi had that sickening feeling as she headed inside. Intelligence was her designated place to be though she made the dash inside as she passed the medics and others in the lobby. The first obstacle was the locked metal door that lead up to Intelligence but that was no longer an issue with the twisted and warped metal. Well explosions were good for some things she guessed taking the stairs at run before she came out into the bull pen or what was left of it. With the smoke and dust still settling she almost missed the gaping hole in the floor right by the office that might have been nice at one point. “Fire department; call out!” She yelled glancing around behind and underneath furniture to see if anyone had been in the office at the time. “Fire department; call out!” Roxi yelled as she edged toward the opening in the floor and shone the light she had coming from her helmet into the dark hole below. It appeared to be another office or again what was left on one as she saw her foot cause some of the concrete in the floor to crumble into the space below. Not exactly the safest working environment for the day as she wondered how the others might be getting on. All she had to do was find even one of the survivors and get them out. Even just one for the day would mean that she had been useful for something other than poking and prodding to see who was where. It was a bad day to be in this place as she prayed the rest of her family was home or as far away from all of this as possible. Mark Wilson, Sharon "Cher" Voight, Henry 'Hank' Voight,

Chicago was supposed to be much safer, ha yeah right he thought as he glanced up at the building that was more like a heap of rubble than an actual building anymore. He had five hours on shift and the slow calls of I’ve a paper cut looked pretty good right about now. He had been working the shift anyway but an explosion at the precinct, all he could think was that he was glad Vanessa wasn’t working for the FBI anymore.
Wearing the turnout coat and pants it was a little different from the usual medic outfit though it only made more aware of the dangers. Still Mark being Mark, he wasnt about to wear a frown about it as he grabbed his stuff out of the ambulance. Throwing one of the bags over his shoulder, carrying another he made his way in. He knew where he was heading though seeing the faces of those he was used to working with on the way. Yeah none of this was pretty. Even down to the bent bars of the CPD intelligence unit which was rumoured to be one of the best.
Mark could see the turnout coat of Meriton, great he was working with the sister of the ex. Fantastic. Mark rolled his eyes as he took off up the stairs keeping a close eye on the floor, his experience in engineering was handy given what he stood in. Practically the floor wasnt going to last too long when half of it was missing as he reached for the back of Roxi’s turn out coat to tug her back ward.
“What the hell are you trying to do?” Mark asked, “Get yourself killed?” He muttered as he dropped his bags just back from the gaping hole in the floor by the far office. “Any signs of life around this place?” Mark asked as he glanced around though he could barely see his hands at this point so signs of life was going to be a short thing if there was silence. He just hoped that Roxi could stand working with him today. After all they weren’t going to help anyone if they were arguing about life in general.

[attr="class","Sharonner"] [attr="class","Sharonner1"] [attr="class","Sharonback"] [attr="class","Sharonnert"]Sharon could hear the pain in her dad’s voice as he screamed her name. “Dad!” She called out again No, she had to get to him but before she realized what was going on he had both his hands on the side of her face. She had a feeling the feds were going to be all over the place as soon as Thomas knew what was going on; but right now her focus was on her dad who was trying to play the hero. “Dad don’t. Please. I’m not going to settle down if you don’t.” Yeah well settling down was subjective in this case. No, she didn’t want to lay still. It hurt less to sit up. She could feel the pain in her collarbone though. “Cazzo.” The Italian curse word slipped as she realized she had broken her collarbone and she was bleeding from her leg (though nothing life threatening) but one couldn’t fall from another story and not get scratched up. Her headache lucky for her was dull and nothing too extraneous. That’s when she heard voices, she recognized them. Though she was buried, the only face she could see was Hank’s. “I’ll be alright. I think a few bones are broken but it’s no worse than falling out of the trees when I was younger.” Sharon reassured her dad the best she could. She had no idea if they even had anyone to secure the crime scene yet. How many cops were still out there? “Daddy, someone’s gotta secure the area.” She just spoke whatever came to her mind. No, she was fine and aside from the collarbone she didn’t think there was anything else wrong. [googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] THIS IS CHICAGO my city! Hank was out of his mind with worry, this couldnt be happening he told himself though the pain he felt told him differently. Even when he heard Sharon call out he knew he had to get to her, there wasnt a choice in that. He wasnt about to leave her on her own not making sure she was okay. “I’m settled, it’s okay Cher just stay still and relax.” He said try to be as calm as he could be but then calm when the building seemed to explode. Yeah that wasnt happening any time soon despite the calm he tried to force into his voice.
Hearing the Italian swear word Hank smiled a little, yeah that was Sharon. He had managed to learn a little though mostly to know when she was annoyed or the basic phrases and that word was one of them. Still he had a lot more to say than that but right then it just didnt mattered to him. Swearing about it might be great but he was too worried about her to think about what he might say later. Oh later was different, he knew that his mouth wasnt going to be stopping if he had to scream and yell at people to make a start on what was going on.
No one hit the city and got away with it, no one got to hit the twenty first and live to tell about it. Family was family and Sharon was hurt, that wasnt going to settle with him at all. “You didnt fall out of a tree Cher, you fell through the floor. Big big difference.” Hank said trying to get that into his head but broken bones, yeah that was bad enough. Hank was trying to breath normally though he was sure broken ribs weren’t really helping too much with it. Hank stared at Sharon when she called him daddy and spoke about securing the area.
“Baby it’s okay. Someone else will do that. There’s enough cops here to do that.” Hank said trying to work out what else was wrong with her as he looked at her leg. It was bleeding yes but not badly enough as he glanced at her head. It had to be a head injury he thought as he kept his hands by her face trying to hold her still. “Cher just keep talking to me.” Hank said almost pleading in his tone, “Tell me what we’d need to do next after securing the area.” He decided that was about all he could come up with in that moment to keep her talking.
Hank heard the voices as he looked up. He could barely see the next floor but he could hear people. “Hey down here!” He yelled through the pain. “Please help, my daughters hurt. Hurry the hell up!” Hank added wanting to put badly onto the end of daughters hurt, but then that wouldnt help anyone right then. He just wanted to get Sharon to the hospital so she could get checked out.

Roxi barely registered anyone following her into the destruction of what used to be the Intelligence unit. She was yelling out fire department trying to weave and climb her way through, in and around furniture, metal, concrete and whatever else littered the place. She watched the concrete crumble under her foot, she had never really been afraid of heights or really much. No that came with being the eldest twin, she was more freaked out about her siblings and Michael had proven her right on that count.
Feeling the tug on her turnout coat Roxi stumbled backwards a little off balance. She expected to see a cop or survivor of the explosion somewhere but instead she was greeted with her brothers ex boyfriend who was now married to a woman. Yeah funny how that had gone on she wondered as she glared at the man. “I know what I’m doing idiot, and what if I am. Not like you have any right to stop me.” Roxi snapped, so she was hardly bitter with Mark about the chosen parting of ways with her brother but well yeah she was because if they had stayed together.
Maybe in her mind Mark could have convinced him to not be a hero. To take some quiet job and not to get shot, if they had been together still there was always that chance that Michael would never have been in the part with Tess that day. Not that Roxi blamed Tess either but there was just a wrong place, wrong time and hero brother that collided that day. Then again it was a plan or fate or whatever peopled called it these days though it hurt no less.
“Not a sign ye...” Roxi stopped talking as she heard the yelling about down here. “We here you.” Roxi called back as she reached out for Mark’s arm to hold her as she tried to see a way down to the floor beneath them. “Just hang tight guys, we’ll just be a minute. Just keep calm we’ll be there soon.” Roxi stated as she glanced at Mark motioning around the edge of the gaping hole in the floor. “See over there Wilson, that slap of concrete hanging. Looks like we can made slide down onto the next floor but we’ll need to find a way out from down here.” Roxi suggested seeing no better option right then.
Sure she could wait for fifty one to get ropes and pulleys to make sure their descent was safe but it sounded like someone was in trouble. Roxi never waited for help when it came to that, no it was either go or wait for people to be too far gone to save and right at that moment. She hardly wanted to wait to see what would happen as she started to edge her way around the hole. Without waiting to hear what Mark thought she slid not so gracefully down into the floor below landing roughly on some rubble as she saw a man and woman not too far away.

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] MY FIRST MY LAST and my everything Mark had heard about Michael and yes he was sorry. It might not have worked out and he was happily with Vanessa now but the thought had crossed his mind, the big what if of life. It wasnt like he wanted to change anything other than the man being alive even if it was just for his sisters sake. Mark hadn’t really said much to either of them apart from the sorry and sending a card. What could he say? He knew it wasnt like they could take it back or it would fix anything. He had given out notifications at NCIS and it destroyed people.
A sorry didnt fix anything and causing the triplets more problems wasnt his style at all. He hadn’t really told them that either so working with Roxi made it a little awkward as he pulled her back from the edge of the hole in the floor. Idiot, well he knew she could do worse he thought. “I don’t but I know Michael wouldnt want that and you’ve your sister to think about too. You can throw yourself into another disaster another day but you’re not making that mistake while I’m here.” Mark stated knowing that if anything for Michel he would try and watch out for the two sister as much as he could.
Like it or not he cared though the minute he heard Roxi stop talking he was relieved to hear a voice or voices he wasnt quiet sure. One or alive meant that it was a good day. Mark held on tightly to Roxi as he made sure to keep her from falling over the edge. She was truly insane he thought though her words he agreed with. “Be right there guys.” He added as he listened to her idea about the concrete. No he took insane back and wanted to commit her right there and then.
He supposed he should be thankful that Vanessa wasnt privy to the nutty idea as he hated to admit that Roxi wasnt exactly not making perfect sense. Mark followed Roxi around the hole waiting a few seconds before he held onto his bags and boards and made the slide down to the next floor. He couldnt see a thing until it was too late and managed to knock into Roxi as he did an almost face place onto the rubble below. Great, just another reason for her to hate him today.
It wasnt like he could help it, the smoke, dust and debris was thick in the air and seeing anything within a few feet was like trying to look through soup to see the bowl underneath. “Sorry sorry.” Mark muttered as he glanced around. “Paramedic, where are you?” Mark asked as his eyes landed on the two people down there.

[attr="class","Sharonner"] [attr="class","Sharonner1"] [attr="class","Sharonback"] [attr="class","Sharonnert"]Stay and relax? Really? A filing cabinet had just shoved her through the floor and he was telling her to relax. Did her dad even hear himself? Leave it to her dad to be a realist and tell her it wasn’t a tree. If she could pretend it was just a tree and not that the building had just exploded around them. She could feel the pain shooting through her collar bone and anytime she moved her shoulder she let out a low whine of pain. The filing cabinet was in the way of her getting up, but it was buried under something. It was heavy. Telling her dad that it was her collar bone that was broken, that was likely to go wrong a million and one ways. When her dad took hold of her head she whimpered. Few people could touch her like that and get away with it but this hurt. “Stop that hurts my neck. Please stop.” She somehow forgot they were even talking about getting the area secured. The pain in her collar bone hurt. The sound of paramedic voices nearby. No… one of them was male and not one she knew. Her breathing picked up heavily. Who had the twenty first pissed off? Why were they being targeted? “Be nice Daddy, please.” She knew her dad could be rather pushy when he wanted to be but her head hurt and she didn’t want him yelling at them. She closed her eyes, he still had her by the head but she maneuvered so that it hurt less. Though with the pressure on her head to hold it still she was going to have to out her injury. “It’s my collar bone that broken.” She hissed in pain at an almost constant stream and her breathing was heavy. “But you’re not okay either, don’t lie to me.” She added. “You’re in pain. I can see it. The way you are holding your posture.” Sharon was good at reading body language. [googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] THIS IS CHICAGO my city! All Hank could hear was the whine of pain from her, he couldnt hear much else and sure he knew she was hurt but to Hank that whine of pain. It was a scream to his ears. “Cher sorry, I’m sorry.” Hank said as he made sure to let her go. The fact that her neck hurt yeah that was the worst thing she could have said he figured. “Just relax and stay calm okay Cher. It’ll be okay.” Hank gasped trying to breath though each breath hurt more and more as he realised that they weren’t the only ones there.
Voices from above, well people anyway though the fact one was a male voice. Hank could see that Sharon wasnt exactly comfortable with it but he wasnt about to turn down any help. “It’s okay, I wont let anything happen to you Sharon.” Hank stated knowing he had already failed on that point. Letting anything happen to her, the building had just exploded and Sharon was hurt. He had let that happen and sure as he was he would be okay, Hank knew he was going to go after whoever had done this. Not just because family was hurt but the wider family too.
“I am nice Sharon, what gave you any other ideas?” Hank asked grinning at her for a moment. “Hurry the hell up, it’s about time you two stopped chatting and helped my daughter.” Hank snapped at the two of them once he could see the figures through the cloud of downed building. “Collar bone, okay baby just hang in there we’ll get you fixed up right away.” Hank said smiling though the hiss of pain felt like it was killing him the longer it lasted.
“We’re not bothered about me right now and sure I’m fine I’m just not as athletic as I used to be. Jumping down a floor hurts.” Hank said, he was lying through his teeth but the person Hank was most worried about was Sharon and she was the one person he wanted the medic and fire fighter to bother about. “My posture is fine, you’ll see me Friday dancing at Molly’s dont you worry.”Hank added knowing he wasnt the dancing type. No his bust a move ideas were more heading to the bar and making a move on a bar stool before staying still all night.

Roxi snapped her eyes back at Mark the minute he mentioned her brother’s name. “Don’t you dare.” She stated wishing she could push the paramedic into the hole head first and get away with leaving him there. “How do you even know what he would want and yes my sister does need me so no I’m not doing anything stupid but you cannot stop me from doing my job.” The man was right and she hated that, Roxi was hardly going to throw herself into anything that might leave her sister as the one remaining triplet.
No that was as ridiculous as a flying pig but then Roxi was Roxi and danger was her game. She just hated that of all the paramedics on duty that day she had to be stuck with her brothers, well either ex or boyfriend or whatever they had been. Roxi felt Mark knock into her as he nearly set her tumbling into another pile of concrete and bricks. The man was a liability, how he ever had a family was beyond her understand because how anyone managed to survive around him. Maybe he was cursed and that was the reason for their bad luck.
Roxi heard the hurry up comment, great so they got a bear with a sore head as a patient for this too. When was her luck going to change? “What about her collar bone?” Roxi asked as she glanced over the two, she was no paramedic but she knew the woman seemed hurt a lot more than the guy. At the mention of the guy dancing Roxi snickered, that would be a sight she was sure given he was hardly a spring chicken. “Hey Wilson, get your butt over here and treat the lady.” Roxi called as she glanced over at the man.
“Sir you’ll need to step away to let the medic work, let me take a look at you.” She offered placing a hand on the man’s shoulder to try and steer him away from who she guessed was the daughter he was talking about.

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] MY FIRST MY LAST and my everything Mark had said the wrong thing yet again, it wasnt like any of it was easy and he did have a bad habit of doing or saying the wrong thing but then the Meriton sisters. Someone had to watch out for them and it wasnt like Michael could do that too well given the situation. “I wouldnt know but I knew him a while and family was important to him so yeah I’m not stopping you doing anything but I’ll sure as hell make sure to watch out for you both.” Mark stated figuring that getting into the conversation was a bad idea.
He was getting his things when he heard Roxi bark at him to get over there and threat the lady. “Not like I was going to leave before doing that.” Mark replied wondering what it was she thought he was going to do or wasnt going to do for that matter. “Sir listen to the lady.” Mark muttered figuring the man had one of two options and Roxi he wasnt wanting to cross at all. With that in mind Mark knelt down next to the woman there as he heard the collar bone comment as smiled. “We’re going to take good care of you both just dont worry.” Mark stated.
He set to looking over the woman as he pulled on some gloves to take a look at her collar bone to see if he just needed to pack it or anything more. “So tell me what hurts and I’ll take a look okay?” Mark offered not wanting to make anyone uncomfortable but then if it was her head and collar bone then he knew he would need to keep the woman as still as possible before anyone made any moves to get them out of there.
